Girl, you smell good!

Certain fragrances always seem to get me compliments. One of them is Jo Malone's Pomegranate Noir. Every time I wear it, I never fail to get a "what is that perfume you are wearing?" inquiry.

If you are not familiar with Jo Malone, allow me to introduce you. My fabulous Aunt Trudy was the first person to introduce me, and I have been a devotee ever since.

Jo Malone is a London-based company, named after its founder, that specializes in amazing fragrances for women and men. But the best part is her signature art of "fragrance combining". What does this mean? It means that each of her fragrances can be paired with another complimentary fragrance to produce a hybrid perfume.

Now, if you're like me, you might have experimented with this on your own. A little spray of Chanel Number 5 mixed with a little spray of Stella McCartney's Stella Sheer. Sometimes it works, and sometimes....not so much.

But with Jo Malone, you can't go wrong. Using her fragrance combining guide, you will see which of her scents work best with each other. So if you buy 2 bottles of perfume that are complimentary scents, you are actually getting 3 new scents that you can wear.

Aside from the unique scents, the quality and the packaging are top notch. And if you go to a Jo Malone store, the salespeople tend to be very generous with free samples of other scents, so you can test them out and see which ones you want to buy. They also sell lotions, bath wash, and candles. While not cheap, Jo Malone is definitely worth the $.

My name is Mary...

And I am a beauty product junkie. My addiction began as a young girl. From watching my mother put on her makeup and style her hair before a night out with my father, to my grandmother's perfume collection, to my obsession with giving "makeovers" to my childhood friends and neighbors (which often involved the timeless combination of blue eyeshadow, bright red lipstick, and crimped hair), I have always loved everything and anything to do with makeup, perfume, skincare, and haircare.

So, I have started this blog so that I may share with you my laundry list of must have and must get beauty products. I will also post tips that I've received from professional makeup artists and hair stylists (my line of work requires that we sometimes cross paths), as well as suggestions/recommendations from family/friends, and anyone nice enough to share their must haves and must gets.

These are strictly my opinions, based on my experiences. It's just something I'm doing for fun. And out of the goodness of my junkie little heart.
